Chris' Birthday

So since we didn't really do a whole lot for Chris birthday I felt bad, so we celebrated it the following weekend! He loves that ice cream cake!!!
Happy Birthday Chris, we all love you and look forward to spending many more birthdays with you!!!

Idaho Trip

We had the opportunity to head back to Idaho for Chris' brother's graduation from BYU-Idaho!! It was WAY too short of a trip and we didn't get to see everyone we wanted to see, but it was really fun to see Chris' family again. We left on Thursday, April 11 and drove to Boise where we stayed the night at our friend's house and then drove the rest of the way on Friday...Chris' birthday!! He at least got a break from driving...which was actually the only break he had the whole trip! lol When we got to Idaho Falls we met up with Chris' family for lunch at Pizza Pie Cafe (we love that place and miss it a lot!). And then, because my hair needed some serious care and hadn't found anyone in California yet, I went and got my hair cut at the place I used to go when we lived there. It looked and felt so much better! We have definitely gotten used to the California weather though because even though it was in the high 50's (which is like nice spring weather in Idaho after being used to the single digits, teens or twenty's for so long) we were FREEZING!!! We are probably wimps, but I'm totally okay with that! We also went to visit Owen before the graduation and it was nice to go back and put flowers down since we won't be able to do that this year on Memorial day or even just visit him when ever we want anymore.
The boys look grumpy because they had just woken up from a nap and it was FREEZING!
The graduation ceremony was nice but in my opinion way too long, especially if you have kids. I'm glad we were able to celebrate with Jeff and his wife, Maria, though. Now they are headed off to Medical School!!! I was so sad because when I went to get my camera out it was completely dead and I neglected to bring the charger...fail!! So these were taken with my phone, better than nothing right?
On Saturday they had a graduation party at their house and it was nice to just hang out all day with them and let the boys play with their cousin. And then Sunday morning saw us back on the road where we drove the whole way back that day. It was a long day, but really not as bad as we were expecting...we actually got back here before the sun went down!! That in and of itself is an accomplishment, especially with kids!! So all in all it was a VERY short trip but fun none the less to get away for a couple days...can't wait for our next vacation!!

Moon Sand

Darn it I've started to get behind again!! Oh well, here goes the catch up...

I found this really cool idea on Pinterest a while back and decided to finally give it a try to give the boys something different to do. It was super easy to make and the boys LOVE playing with it. All it is is 8 cups of flour and 1 cup of baby oil for one batch but I doubled it to have more for them. It's soft mold-able so they can make castles and stuff and mainly they just love feeling it and squishing it. I got all the toys at the dollar store and I just put the lid back on it and it's ready for another day...I made this a couple weeks ago now and it's still just as soft and fun to play in! They seriously will play in it for at least an hour!!
I have also gotten a tarp instead to make clean up a little easier...
