Tornado Watch

Well, yesterday we experienced our first tornado watch...which lasted from around 1:30 pm until about 1 am or so. Lets just say that it was the most nerve-wracking 12 hours I've had in a LONG time!! Tornadoes just freak me out and I REALLY don't want to experience one while we are here...or ever for that matter! I watched the news and weather channel for probably like 5 or 6 hours just watching the storms and making sure they weren't headed for us. Luckily for me, all the major storms that had tornadeos seemed to bypass us. And by the end of the night, after watching the radar nonstop online it looked as though we were finished with the storms!! Which meant that I could sleep peacefully.

I think the main thing that made me sooo incredibly nervous and on edge all afternoon was the fact that we don't have a "real" basement to go down to (it's just a cellar type thing that's under our house that you access through a door in the floor, and I've never been down there and just the thought of having to go down there creeps me out!), and that our little house has like 14 or 15 windows and only 2 inner rooms that we could hide out in, which probably wouldn't have done much since our house is soo old, that it probably would have blown away anyways! There is a shelter under the high school that we could go to, which is nice and comforting to know, however having never been here during a tornado I'm not sure how it all works in the evening when the school is all locked up and not as easily accessible. Anyways, I probably wouldn't have been as scared and nervous if we just had a regular basement that we could hide out in...but just the same, I just have to get through the next 3-4 weeks without another storm system like this one and I'll be just fine because we'll be back in Idaho!!

A little recap of the storm, there were at least 35 tornadoes that touched down in the 5-6 hours of watching the news in Eastern Colorado, Western Kansas, and the panhandles of Oklahoma and Texas and at least 19 of that 35 were just in Western Kansas. Several of them were pretty big ones, measuring at least a mile wide!! Just CRAZY...Anyways, it's a nice sunny day today and even though we are supposed to have a few thunderstorms and rain the next few days, I can handle that!

28 Weeks

Can't believe that I'm officially in my 3rd trimester and that in 10 weeks I'll be full term...CRAZY!!!!

Wright Park Zoo

Yesterday I took Parker to this little zoo in Dodge City with our play group. It was pretty fun, but I think after about 10 minutes he had more fun just running around instead of looking at the animals.

Happy Birthday....

...to CHRIS!!! This past Monday, April 12, was Chris' birthday. He had to work all day, but after work we had Apricot Chicken for dinner (soo good by the way!) and then we did cake and presents a little later. Parker and I got him a couple gift cards to Home Depot so he could get a new Letherman as well as a couple packs of Red Vines. We didn't do a whole lot, but it was still a nice day! HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS :)

Splish Splash

Yesterday's forecast = Sunny and HOT = Swimming in a brand new POOL!!!!

Chris was teaching Parker how to drink from the fountain! What the whole pool looks like... Parker decided he didn't want to slide into the water anymore, so he moved it!

The water was a little cold, but he LOVED it!! Does anyone else think it's weird to be swimming in APRIL??!! I do, but when it's in the 80's what can ya do?

Easter Egg Dying

This morning before Parker's nap we attempted to dye some eggs with Parker. It really didn't last very long before he was just too tired to sit there. I think this activity might still be a little too old for him, he just wanted to throw the eggs into the water! Hopefully next year!!

Sooo Tired

Parker was very tired and wanted to cuddle with his daddy before going down for a nap. It doesn't happen very often, but is the BEST when it does!!

Easter Egg Hunt

After Parker's 1st nap he did his Easter Egg Hunt and it didn't take him very long at all to get the idea!HAPPY EASTER!!!

Wright Park

Yesterday we found this awesome park in Dodge City and we went to it. However it was pretty cold and getting late so we only stayed for about 10 minutes tops. Because Parker loves parks and playing outside, leaving this soon just did not sit well with him...in fact, he screamed for about 5 minutes then fell asleep for the rest of the ride home (about 40 minutes). When we got home he started back up again and seriously screamed and threw himself on the floor for probably about another 10 minutes or so. I'm not sure if he was really screaming about not being able to stay at the park or if he was just REALLY tired. Anyways, it was pretty funny.

We did however decide to take him back to that park today after we ran a couple errands because it was beautiful outside and we wanted to do something fun since Chris only had to work this morning. Needless to say Parker had a BLAST!!! We were there for almost an hour and he ran everywhere, went down all the slides several times and didn't mind all the big kids running all around him.
